Guaranteed Rota working 5 days out of 7 (weekend working included) 07:00-15:30 and 11:00-19:30 (some flexibility required when it comes to finish times during busier periods).

Purpose The purpose of this role is to drive all relevant quality assurance activities and monitor factory standards from the technical perspective.
Authority and accountability Accountable for driving high quality standards and ongoing compliance checks for all finished products, raw materials and packaging.
Key duties
Maintain quality standards throughout all areas and to complete all relevant documentation
Carry out inspection of products to ensure they comply with customer specification in relation to: quality, size, best before dates and bar coding
Identify, record and highlight any quality issues or defects to the commercial team
Collate shelf life products to replicate customer life cycles also conduct shelf life analysis throughout the life cycle specification of a given product
General cleaning and maintenance of equipment

General
Follow the company processes and procedures in relation to food safety, allergen control, protective clothing and maintain good manufacturing practices throughout the shift
Follow the clean as you go policy and maintain high standards of personal hygiene
Deliver high standards of quality and hygiene ensuring products are produced in line with site standards and customer specification
Meet the relevant KPIs and targets assigned by line manager
Assist in day to day operation and provide cover and support to other operatives if necessary
Minimise the environmental impact by following the company waste disposal procedures

Health and Safety
Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner in accordance with instructions and to comply with safety rules/procedures/ regulations and report any unsafe practice or condition
Report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence or dangerous condition to the line manager
Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and do not use any that are unsafe or damaged
Report any tolls/equipment issues
Ensure that all guards are securely fixed and that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided are used
Not to operate any plant or equipment unless authorised and trained

Person Specification

Qualifications ESOL Level 1/2 or equivalent
Experience Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
Key Skills and Knowledge Strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written
English communication skills
An organized and efficient approach
Flexible attitude to work with the ability to work to strict deadlines
Able to remain calm under pressure
Good concentration and ability to focus with attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict quality control procedures
Need to be prepared to work in a chilled environment
